It is this strong instinct to nurture, meet both physical and emotional needs, and tend to the comfort of those under my care. I believe every birthing woman should be supported in this way. I've always had a passion for childbirth-- after delivering my first son in 2016, I decided to pursue it as a career. My goal as a doula is to support my client's vision for birth as fully as possible. My approach is holistic-- maternity care goes well beyond the womb and extends towards educational, emotional, physical, and spiritual support.
I was a Doula for 10 years before becoming a mom myself and my own birth completed the circle for me of divine birthing. I have two boys (unless they tell me otherwise) and each birth was very different...medicated and natural childbirth. I authored my first pregnancy book, journal and birth story book with birth affirmations in 2020 in conjunction with Dr. Thorp of UNC-Chapel Hill.
